My partner has had enough, she’s irate with anger, seething, incandescent with rage, over an advert for a Nike sports bra where the item is being reviewed by a so-called transgender person. I say so-called because I won’t allow such a thing to be considered a truth on my personal blog, as far as I am concerned it’s a bloke, it has bloke DNA, it was not born with breast tissue to fill a bra of any sort.

My partner wears a sports bra because she is sporty, she tells me that finding the right one matters, the wrong one can cause discomfort and problems with breast structure long term. Of course I can’t know or experience this, it has to be explained to me by somebody that this is a real issue for. I can’t experience a menstrual cycle, or childbirth, or breast feeding, or menopause, or make the decision to have HRT, or spend most of my adult life taking progesterone. I can’t know any of this because I’m not a woman, and neither can the guy who’s reviewing the Nike sports bra.

That’s what irks her, that women, real ones, have collectively suffered in some way, they may deserve something for that suffering if not just the sympathies of men and the understanding of other real women. This insult by Nike by letting a person who has not known that suffering usurp the throne and be the voice, and the face, of a product that somewhat alleviates the aforementioned pain, is as cold and badly thought out as it is ridiculous. Their’s was a stab at equality, an attempt to include that which doesn’t only not fit, but doesn’t belong at all in the vicinity. By getting a guy to represent womanhood to women, they, Nike, have become part of a movement that has, in modern times, stolen womanhood from women and told them that it’s for their own good.

Richard Dawkins asks in a tweet when this nonsense will end, I wonder that myself. I also wonder who it is that gives a shit about any of this? Who is actually totalling all this nonsense up on a scoresheet and for what purpose, where is the incentivising mechanism that drives otherwise rational people to not only adhere to a falsehood, but to argue its merits against their own ideas of what is a truth or otherwise? I refuse to believe that anyone other than a very confused attention seeker with a mental health issue actually thinks that the wish to be, is equal to the actually being, of anything. I wonder who’s offended by a BLACK coffee, or a WHITEboard? Is this all not getting a bit ridiculous?

I’ll give you an example, maybe a few, of a Bind, a contradiction that proves us, the people of Britain, to be a bunch of morons… We do not blame any Ugandan person for the acts of their horrific government, a government they elected, yet we do blame and punish all Russian athletes, and businessmen, for the acts of their leaders, who were not elected in a free and democratic way. Iran, Syria, and Libya were our sworn enemies, yet they were some of the most moderate, modern, secular, and liberal, countries of the Islamic world. A Saudi living in Pakistan orchestrated a terror attack, so we retaliated in the wrong direction, under false pretences and false charges, and attacked our sworn enemies just because we wanted to.

How does any of this make sense?
